Where capital meets code.
I'm a private equity operator who writes code. A decade managing institutional portfolios taught me how businesses should run. Now I build the AI workflows, data systems, and operational platforms that make it happen — alongside you, not from a slide deck.
Matthew Dickson — business advisor and AI systems builder based in Gainesville, Texas. PE background managing $20B+ in institutional portfolios. Builds agentic AI workflows, automated reporting, and operational systems for North Texas businesses doing $1M+.
Sound familiar?
These problems cost growing businesses six figures a year. Most owners accept them as "just how it is."
"I'm making million-dollar decisions on incomplete data"
Market timing, capital allocation, pricing strategy. The stakes are real but the data is scattered across systems nobody trusts. You're relying on gut-feel when you shouldn't have to.
"I have a CPA, a lawyer, and a financial advisor — but nobody connecting the dots"
Your advisors are good at their lanes. But nobody's looking across tax strategy, entity structure, capital decisions, and operations at the same time. The gaps between those conversations are where the real money leaks.
"Everyone's talking about AI but nobody's actually wired it into my business"
You've seen the demos. You've heard the pitches. But nobody has sat down with your actual workflows — your reporting, your job costing, your client intake — and built something that saves your team real hours every week. The gap between AI hype and AI implementation is where you're losing ground to competitors who figured it out first.
"We bought the software but nobody's actually using it"
You've invested in tools — CRMs, dashboards, project management platforms — but adoption is low and the real workflows still live in spreadsheets and group texts. The problem was never the software. It's that nobody mapped your actual operations before choosing it.
Who I work with
What makes this different
I understand your business. Then I build the system.
Most AI consultants don't understand a P&L. Most financial advisors can't write code. I do both — and that's why the systems I build actually stick.
I read your financials before I write a line of code
A decade in private equity taught me to see businesses through the lens of unit economics, capital efficiency, and operational leverage. I don't automate for the sake of it. I find the workflows that are actually costing you money and build systems that move the numbers that matter.
I build AI workflows that run your operations
Automated reporting, intelligent data pipelines, AI agents that handle repeatable decisions — I build these with the same tools I use to run a $140M real estate portfolio. Not off-the-shelf software with a monthly fee. Custom systems designed around how your business actually works.
You own everything. No lock-in.
Every dashboard, automation, model, and workflow I build gets handed over with full documentation and training. Your team runs it after I leave. If you want ongoing implementation, we do that too — but it's your choice, not a dependency.
What I build
AI workflows for real businesses
Not demos. Not proofs of concept. Production systems that save your team hours every week.
Automated reporting
Weekly P&L summaries generated from your accounting system. Job costing dashboards updated in real time. Investor and partner reports assembled and delivered on schedule — no spreadsheet wrangling. Cash flow forecasts that update daily from bank feeds and AR/AP aging.
8+ hours/week → 20 minutesIntelligent inbound
AI that reads your RFPs and bid requests, then drafts responses from your past wins. Lead scoring that ranks inbound inquiries by fit and auto-drafts response emails. Client intake flows that go from form submission to CRM to task assignment to welcome email — zero manual steps.
Never miss or slow-walk a lead againConnected systems
Your CRM, accounting, and project management tools wired into one live dashboard. No more "export CSV, paste into spreadsheet." Daily executive digests pulled from every system, AI-summarized. Alerts when KPIs go off-track — margins, AR aging, utilization — before they become problems.
One source of truth, always currentAI operations audit
Not sure where to start? I map your actual workflows — how data moves, where decisions happen, what's manual that shouldn't be — and deliver a prioritized roadmap of what to automate first, what it costs, and what it saves. No jargon. No upsell. Just a clear plan.

About Matthew
Where capital meets code.
I spent a decade in private equity: acquisitions, capital markets, underwriting, and building analytical systems for institutional investors across hundreds of millions in transactions.
Today I co-manage Uplift Capital, a real estate private equity firm with a $140M+ multifamily portfolio across DFW and Texoma. I built the operational intelligence platform that runs it. That's my day job.
On the advisory side, I take on a small number of engagements each quarter for business owners who need the same caliber of financial infrastructure, data systems, and strategic thinking. The family businesses I grew up around face the same challenges as large firms. They just don't have the playbooks. That's what I build.
How engagements work
Pilot
30-day engagement. One workflow, one system, one clear deliverable. You see exactly how I work before committing further.
Implementation
60–90 day build. Full system — dashboards, automations, integrations, documentation, and team training.
Ongoing (optional)
Monthly retainer for continued implementation. New workflows, system refinement, and strategic advisory as your business evolves.
